The physics behind an excellent golf swing are just mind-boggling. Would you like to know the optical phantasm that causes your golf slice and instantly cure it? Or, would you prefer to spend the rest of your life reading golf books and magazines and movies and sporting imbecilic "Tin Cup" contraptions by no means discovering the remedy to your dreaded golf slice till you go to Heaven and your gravestone reads: "By no means might manage to remedy his golf slice."? She was preceded in death by a daughter and four siblings. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (David) Beckman and Melinda Knutson (David Ford) seven grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren two sisters, Olga Mathison and Helen Sullivan and a brother, George Glasrud. She moved to Stewartville in 1991 to be near a daughter and sister and moved to Park Forest in 1997 to live with another daughter. She and her husband moved to a retirement home in Sheldon Township in 1975, and after his death in 1976, she traveled extensively. She belonged to the Yucatan Valley Birthday Club and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, quilting, sewing and cooking. A lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, she was a member of Black Hammer Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the women's circle and ladies aid, and she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school. In addition to homemaking, she taught at Brick School in Yucatan in 1945, did bookkeeping for the farm and raised honey bees. On June 25, 1937, she married Maurice Knutson, and they farmed in the area for nearly 40 years. She taught at Yucatan School from 1930 to 1933, at Tin Box School near Freeburg for two years, then in Freeburg and later in Mendota, Minn. Glasrud Implement and Auto in Spring Grove.
